Wine Town

The cellar system in Budafok is a more than 120 km long, still functioning coherent cellar system. The Záborszky Wine Cellar is located in this special city. Our venue provides a fascinating insight into the culture and the history of winemaking. Different kind of interactive programs add to the completeness this very unique tourist attraction, a real rarity both for domestic and international visitors.

The Záborszky Wine Cellar is named after the first mayor of Budafok, Záborszky Nándor.

Sights in the venue

The Plague Chapel

Entering the renovated Plague Chapel above the cellar and the cave you will be filled with the atmosphere that used to surround people of the age. While people’s prayers for protection are embodied in the icon on the ceiling of the chapel, the cave home unveils their everyday life.

Museum of crafts

This special part of our exhibition represents the crafts in connection with the winemaking and the wine delivery.

This unique part of our venue is decorated with artistical carvings and different types of barrels such as the oval,the egg and the glass-fronted form barrels.

The Wine Street

The most emblematic part of the venue is the Wine Street, where typical landscape architectural features from 10 winemaking areas in Hungary are merged into a single street: such as Badacsony, Balatonboglár, Eger, Etyek, Mecsekalja, Somló, Sopron, Szekszárd, Tokaj-Hegyalja and Villány.

The Wine Street is the main venue of different types of events.

Events in the Wine Town

Due to the rareness and the enormous spaces of the cellar, our venue provides an opportunity for number of Business and Family relating events. We organise different types of events, such as wedding ceremonies, picnics and even active programs in connection with winemaking.

Family events and reunions

If you would like to celebrate with your loved ones in a truly homely atmosphere, then choose our venue for the gathering! What is more we can organise a private wine dinner or a smaller wine tasting to your friends or family. We offer for birthday lunches and dinners traditional Hungarian meals with special programs. On the top of all that we can help not only in the organisation, but in the decoration and setting up of the technical equipments.

Cellar tours

The venue provides cellar tours, where also different wine tasting are available. The program can be held with minimum 7 people. Individuals occasionally can visit our place, mainly on every first Saturday of the month, when the „Budafoki Pincejárat” is held.

Business Events

Our venue awaits the organisers of conferences, meetings, trainings, partner and Christmas parties. In a beautiful environment, equipped with professional audio and lighting techniques, with its unique furniture, our place will be the perfect venue for your business event.

The main event hall is the Wine Street with a capacity of 300 people, where most of the events are held.

Gastro Museum

Visit our special Gastro Museum with your collegues, where 1 or more wine tasting series provide an unforgettable experience.

Our museum provides a wide range of programs for school classes as well.

Team building

We offer team building programs, especially for larger groups up to 120 people. On every station the participants taste one of the famous Hungarian wines, followed by a special task they have to complete. Our venue provides a chance to organize treasure hunting programs with real excitement, involving the most special branches of the cellar that have not completely renovated yet.

After the team building program we can provide catering services.

In a few years a Mediterranean garden will await our visitors, offering a wide range of outdoor programs up to 100 people.

Conferences

In case of smaller (150 people) conferences, the Wine Street can be divided into two parts.

While one part of the Wine Street can be furnished with chairs in theatre-style, where the presentations can be performed, the other part of the Wine Street can be equipped for buffet reception or coffee break.
